I have been thinking about giving up smoking ever since I was made redundant on christmas eve, but today I made my mind up once and for all. Well actually the bank did, they have frozen my account and are not releasing money at the ATM

So, this could be the biggest help for giving up smoking I have ever recieved so thanks Nat West  (not worked out how im going to eat or keep my house yet but thats another matter)

Every cloud has a silver lining.... I'll see you in day two...Im actually 100% certain im going to make it without smoking :p

i know how you feel. Ive been credit crunched to the max. In the last 3 months I have lost my business, my house, gone bankrupt and lost my girlfriend but if it all means that I have nothing else to focus on now than sort out my addiction then it will all still be worth it.

when youve got time off its the best time to face these things and give yourself the best frame of mind to get the rest of your life sorted when you come out the other side.

good luck kevin,

Bman

Welcome to this forum Kevin. I'm sorry to hear about your situation regarding the bank and your job but well done for actually doing something positive to help yourself.

Not having any money was my main reason for quitting too. I am lucky that I still have a job but I was getting to the point that everything was going on credit cards because all my money was being used to pay off debts - it was becoming a stupid, destructive vicious circle!

Anyway, since stopping I actually have money in my purse and a little bit in the bank (although not much!).

Well done for deciding to quit - stick with us on here, post as often as you can:D

Hiya Kevin. Not having money at hand really bites the big one, I know how you feel, have been there myself :S. It does however make it a lot easier to quit. No money = no cigarettes so unless you're able to bum fags till you get it sorted it really would just be better to stop altogether and get on with it and you'll notice that when the cash flow starts coming in again it'll stretch a lot further than before. Keep on posting and before you know it you'll be quite far along in your quit. Good luck

Hi Kevin :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

You sound remarkably cheerful in the face of that disaster, with an attitude like that you can't fail and as you say every cloud has a silver lining, but I hope the cash problem sorts out sooner rather than later for you
