However, I have some bad news.

I went out for a few drinks last night, and while quite drunk I had a very sudden urge that I found irresistable

So I gave in and had one :mad:

The Kebab tasted wonderful, but I bitterly regret it now

Every day feels wonderful now, it really does - I can honestly say that I can't remember when the last urge to have a cigarette was.

You may remember a post from me a week or so ago saying that this was now the longest quit since I started smoking 23 years ago. My only previous serious attempt was a little over 8 months of hell. Constantly battling cravings.

This one has been the polar opposite.

The reason for that? Simple. Finding this website, and all the great information and links contained on it.

Knowing and understanding my enemy is the one thing that has made this quit easy and even pleasurable.

It's very odd being thought of as an inspiration, all I have done is the best that I can for myself.

If by doing what I have to do to make sure I stay free of nicotine I manage to help inspire a couple of people along the way, then that's fantastic....

A very fortunate by-product of me using those that went before me as inspiration myself.

Wow Stuart-this seems to have come round really quickly!

Well done mate and thanks for being an inspiration to me as well.

I completely agree with your comments about this forum-I know that without it my quit would have failed months ago. Getting my head in the right place is the major factor in staying quit and like you, I rarely even think about smoking now.
