Hi all

Just quick update to say I have been smoke free for 1 week exactly and I feel dead proud! Still get pangs but working thru them. Is 2nd week easier? Time will tell I guess.

HI Nath,

Congratulations for your 1st week smoke free, the days and weeks ahead will get easier, you will still have bad days, but the good days will out weigh the bad. You should be really proud of yourself you have got past the 1st week which is one of the hardest I think.

Keep up the good work and in no time you will be telling us that you have got through your 1st month.

Hi Nath,

Well done for getting through the first week. It does get easier with time. The craves come less often, they are less intense. You will find that there are times when you go along without giving a thought to smoking at all. It may not seem like this at times in the beginning, but believe me it is what happens. So stick with it, you are doing brilliantly well.

Hey Nath,

Keep it going. You may have the odd rough day in your second week but you have already worked through those kind of days so you know you can do. I am on day 13 and although I had a couple of annoying days, I feel better today than I have since I started and I know that I am through the worst and if I handled that then this is definitely acheivable.

Well done, like wise starting the second week. I think it has got easier, the craving is not as bad now, it still comes but is not as intense as it was when I first stopped.

Hi nato,

No like you I am on NRT. I am using patches, the 16 hour ones. I am trying putting the patch on later in the morning and taking it off earlier in the evening, sort of reducing the time I am wearing it. But for the time being I am really just concentrating on stopping the actual physical act of smoking, i.e. lighting up.
