3rd time lucky!

Hello gain.

This is my third time trying to stop since the start of march.

First time I lasted 3 weeks, second time 5 days, and I am currently on 3 days.

I haven't really had a craving at all. I normally smoke 15-20 marlboro lights a day and have smoked for 10 years.

I am at the stage now where I actually enjoy the cravings because I can beat them and it reminds me that I am doing the right thing and winning.

My problem is normally keeping it up for a long period of time.

Anyhoo, hello again everyone and bring on day 4!:D

Hi david, I was a serial quitter too, and like you I often restarted in a sort of concentration lapse, I'm about 77 days in this quit and I'm so glad I kept on quitting, God knows what made this quit work and not the others.

So good luck to you, stay focused!

Hi Jordenleoni :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Right then to start with you're definitely not to old to quit I was 65 when I quit almost 7 months ago OK

Pick a day to start and make sure you have no fags at all anywhere as they would be as you know to much of a temptation and then take it day by day, hour by hour, even minute by minute if you have to

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Best Wishes

Hi Jordenleoni

Welcome. You say you may be too old and "maybe" the damage is already done, I can assure you, you would know if the damage was done. Don't believe that it's too late and continue with your great decision to quit.

Good luck.

Jackie
