I am now entering my fifth day of non smoking, and the 4th day was by far the worst........I did kind of expect this though as some of the literature told me that it may seem harder for a little time, as the novelty of doing something new is beginning to wear off.
I am using patches and an inhalator.
Hope to both get and give support here.
Peace
Ian

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your decision to quit, one of the best decisions you will ever make. Four days smoke-free is excellent. Do read up on the links in Marge's post - the more you know about your addiction the better equipped you are to fight it.
Well done you. My fourth day was the worst for me as well which was a bit of a shock as I expected this the first three days and they were not too bad but I am thankful I have not had another day like that one. Now on day 9. Just keep hanging in there and week one will soon be over.
Thank you for the lovely welcome everyone. I do feel already that i am part of a family here
BIG congrats to everyone for deciding to quit the demon tobacco.
What is working psychologically for me at the moment, is telling myself that i have not given up cigarettes, i have taken up health.
Like all things you do for the first time - Say let's take football as an ****ogy, you have to work at developing your skills, and there will be days when it seems that nothing is going right. But if you are determined enough to stick at it and develop your skills, you will become a good footballer.
That is how i deal with cravings. I have taken up health and if i am to be successful at it, i must tough out the bad days, because i know it will be worth it in the end.
