newbie on day 3

Hello everyone, i am new to the forum i am Nikki and i'm 36 years old from west midlands.

I have tried to quit so many times and failed.

Relatives on my Dads side including my Dad have all died due to cancer in their 40's.

This still wasn't enough to make me want to quit.

Its only this time i have an even more reason to want to quit.

I am being investigated for a TIA (Mini Stroke).My Mum has had 2 so i'm high risk anyway

Every other time i have tried quitting i have still smoked a few a day when getting up and then going to bed.

This time i haven't.

I am so proud of myself

I am on Patches and using an Inhalator.

I was smoking 40 a day prior.

Read and read and learn about the addiction. We often dont listen or look at the bad things but you have now, you should be very proud you have stopped.

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Well done on 3 days quit and you have every right to be proud of yourself
