Can't believe this - thought I was on day 17 but just been told that I had a smoke on Thursday night. Have to be honest was so drunk I can't remember much at all about the night. What should I do? - is this a fail? - should I start again? I woke up Friday morning feeling shit but thought it was just the booze.

Type of thing my mates would do, considering theyve got a wager going on, tenner that I won't last to 6 weeks!! Oh ye of little faith!!! I've only got to get to Wednesday then they have to pay up hehe, they should know how stubborn I can be

How do you feel about it? Not much difference between 17 and 3 days is there. In six months time it will seem even less. If you are happy to say you're 17 days smokefree, that's up to you, you could say you were 100 days if you wanted, doesn't mean you are. It is entirely up to you, just dont want you to feel bad with yourself. Angela could be right you know.David

I'm going to surprise a few with this (I tend to be a bit harsh - well OK, very harsh - on people that smoke while quit) but I think that a smoke that you can't even remember while very drunk can be ignored...

I would be much less inclined to say that if you had chosen to smoke in a moment of weakness

But please think about refraining from drinking that much for a while - if you make a habit out of getting drunk and smoking, it will lead to a full relapse pretty quickly.

posted this thread and then my comp blew up (well nearly). So not looked until tonight......... Thanks for all the support - even from some i might not have expected it from - lol. I do feel crap for doing it - but no i can't remember it (and yes thats not a particularly good excuse) - but i've not reached for one since - and no i am not going to get so wrecked again....... at least not for a long while lol.

So thanks again for all your support......... still here......... still f***in struggling (I know its all in the head by now).

Had a day in hospital last week for a lumbar puncture - in again next week for electrical nerve response testing (sounds horrible). Docs think I might have MS. Kind of think is smoking really on my problem list........

Deep breath!! Right ok now - going to go and kill some vampires or something on a game - sure takes my mind off it lol
