Day 7 and feeling like it might be the last

Hi all, i stopped smoking 7 days ago. I must admit it hasnt been all that bad ... until now. My cravings have increased especially in the mornings, it must take at least 2 hours before the patches kick in. Its those two hours that I a worried about, i could easily light up, but its my boys faces that prevent me from doing so. I am on the 25g patches, they work so well in the day and evenings, but starting to feel very light headed, why is this?

worried about the weight also that I know will creep on!:(

Sorry! Thats me not explaining. Tales from the quit is a website with stories about experiences of quitting. It's very good. It's nice to know your not alone. I can't do links:o, but if you google it you'll find it. Good luck.

I would say, take a look at this link. talesfromthequit.com/dont-f... Tales from the quit is quite literally somebodys ramblings. This is but one. But, they make so much sense. 7 days is a good way down the line. To be honest I am not sure the patches are doing you any favours though. I did quit on patches but after two weeks I found that because I was still physically addicted to the nicotine they made my quit harder not easier, each day I was still suffering the physical withdrawel but not getting the instant hit from a smoke. I gradually cut them down over a week and things became much better. But, each person is different. I would suggest you take a look at this website. Especially if you haven't seen it yet. It makes sense, it will help to reestablish why you are a non smoker and why you chose to quit. Don't give in, smoking won't gain you anything.

Thanks Billy, i really needed that, its not sympathy i am looking for.

I have great respect for you going cold turkey, i could not do it. I lack will -power hence the need for NRT.

those pictures, although i was aware of the dangers of smoking, brought me back to reality. I have saved this link so if i ever feel the need to light up, instead i will click on this link.

Juster- many thanks for your advice too, i have found the link and have read up on a few experiences.

I have been smoking for 25 years attempted to stop three times.

This time will be my last and with a success story.

I have quit for many reasons, I didnt enjoy smoking towards the end and felt guilty every time i lit up. I now have the use of my other senses, which i lost many years ago.

I am feeling a little unwell with the side effects of stopping smoking, although since reading up on other peoples experiences, i know this is just a blip and will pass.

Teresa xx
