Minnie welcome to week two: Morning hun well... - No Smoking Day
Minnie welcome to week two
Hey hey, week 2 bring it on!
Best of luck to all those other week 2'ers!
I feel great, more alert and less tired and sluggish how about you guys?
Friday night was a nightmare down the pub, and left after a couple of pints as everyone around me was smoking and I was dying for one. Kept trying to come up with excuses as to why I should treat myself and have a ciggy as I had done so well staying of them.
Strange how your head tries to convince you to have something that you are trying to stop.
On the whole its definately getting easier but not sure I trust myself down the pub with beer, I have such a strong association between beer and smoking, ever since I was 16 I suppose, when I started going to my local.
Phil
Well done Phill
Staying stong in the pub is great in the first week bet you was proud of your self the next morning. Hope week two is good for you both.xxxxx
Yeah felt great Saturday morning, no wheezing chest, cough or anything.
Nice feeling.
Hi Phil
well done indeed you are doing just great especially on Fri night and well done for leaving after a couple as booze and fags go together like strawberries and cream big temptation
Glad you are finding it easier now
All the Best
Marg
Thank you!!
How lovely to come on here and find this thread
I am SO pleased it's week 2!!
I will be honest- I am having some worse craves now than i did on day 4..odd I think, but i have not/will not give in- everything feels better as a non-smoker( oooh.. can i call myself that yet?!!) and I feel really happy with myself that i am doing this!
The 'crave' times tend to be when the toddler is having a crying/whingy day, and i feel the need to escape, but i am having mad singing& dancing sessions with him when he gets miserable, and it cheers us both up!
No doubt it'd make any passers by my windows laugh too!
Good luck to all week 2'ers!

Great big hug to you both Marg and Tony and really, really great job on getting to week 2, Minnie... I have a little one and we do our share of singing and dancing and it makes things easier...... many good days to come... and those bad days...... well, we'll just have to look for inspiration on here
Thanks BBlue- today my lovely toddler turned into a mini-monster though.. he woke at 4am and stayed awake and was a nightmare child!
I often drifted towards the back door ready to have a cig break, and then thought.. what am i doing- i don't smoke now, and I don't have any anyway!!!
Duh!
oh boy... tough day then All I have to say to that is it gets easier after they turn 4 :D
You are supporting a lot of people out here, Minnie. Great job and also great job sticking with it..... occasional bad times to come but nothing compared to the good ones..... keep and remember....
"Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so"
Thanks Bella
Thing is, they grow up to be teenagers.. and I have 2 of those too!
Huge gaps between my youngest & eldest . my toddler is 2 yrs 9 months and my eldest is 20! I have a 18 year old and a 16 year old daughter in between..
Today will be a better day as i had some sleep.. which makes all the difference!
Oh my, you have it worse than me! I have the early nights with the 2 year old but the horrible early 6am mornings. Then the lateish nights with the 10 year old and the driving back and forth to sports clubs. Get it both ends and I know it will get worse! Do not envy that big gap!! Even more respect!!! xx
Fiona!
I think the word my mum used was ' bloody stupid'!!!
It was hard when the teens were 17ish, and all i did was get up in the night for a baby, then be a taxi for the others at midnight.. and the endless school parents nights, lifts from clubs, etc etc!
2 are at uni now, and apart from it costing me a small fortune the house is a lot quieter!
One son is in Bristol, 3 hours drive away, and he's coming back for mothers day weekend, and i can't wait to see him
