cant believe i am into my second week...considering when i first joined here in jan i gave in after 4 days and became a weeping wreck...
today has been the strangest day..the missing the holding of a cigarette...the ritual of lighting it and sitting down with a brew holding it.....not the urge to smoke it or even a craving...just the little ritual that goes with it....but thats it......
i have my dose of champix though....halved my dose last night , this morning and tonight and feel slightly better for it, as its made me so bloated.....i have read champix gives you wind.....but i burp more than trump normally and havent got the wind just the bloating...so have bought some wind pills...lol and those actimel drinks...to see if that helps.....
just want to say have been reading how much you all support each other on here and its great, thanks x

Well done for being into the second week, it does feel amazing and strange at the same time, doesn't it?
I am also on Champix and I am not sure what is a side effect and what not, the only thing I can really notice is feeling dizzy and sick for an hour after taking it, I also have headaches but the nurse said today that it was due to giving up diet coke as well (diet coke=cig)
I think we still have a bit of missing the rituals but the gaps without missing them get bigger and bigger.
thanks xxxxx at college first thing this morning and most of the girls smoke....and i thought it would bother me but it doesnt.....cant believe the smell.....doesnt make me go urghhh but realised that smoke really smells...iykwim
Well done on making to day 13! I agree with you about the smell - you never really notice how strong it is til you give up. Also been surprised about how much giving up is about getting over the "routine" cravings, rather than just the nicotine cravings themselves.....I find myself thinking about cigs purely because it's something I did at certain times as a habit, not because I really crave one, if that makes any sense!

Good luck
totally makes sense, this is what i am doing....like when you leave your house you automatically put shoes on...lock the door etc...the same with cigarettes, its automatic to light one up...and now i dont i am aware that i dont, than when i wasnt aware when i smoked that i did light up...lol
