I’ve been a silent user on here since my quite on the 1st of Feb. I must say reading other peoples posts has been a huge help. Unfortunatly on Saturday night I had a slip, only after a fair few drinks but a slip none the less:mad:. I always knew if I was going to relapse it would involve alcohol so I suppose my mind had been made up. I’m determined not to let this undermine my quite and haven’t had another since but it has definitely mad it harder. If anyone else has had this problem and managed to overcome it please let me know, any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers All
Rich

First welcome to the forum glad reading on here has helped you
Sorry you had a blip on Sat unfortunately it happens but pleased that it hasn't stopped you as you say it has made it harder for you you now have to get nicotine free again
hi rich dont worry to much about this slip up. just get your mind set that you will be a non-smoker. I slipped up at 10 days. I had 2 cig and was so upset with myself so i was determined to carry on. Iam now into week 11 and still going strong. So dont worry you will succeed. All the best
Hi and thanks for the words of wisdom. I’m so angry with myself for giving in but I’m so determined to beat this thing once and for all. Guess I’ll have to avoid the beer for a few more weeks before I’m past the worst of it. Damned horrible thing this nicotine!!!!!!
you blipped or failed (whatever is the right word) and now you get over ut and move on!
keep of the beer for a while till your ready.
we have all been there, dont worry about it, just carry on!
good luck
What she said. Stay away from the booze it only lowers your inhibitions and you are probably like the rest of the country and chain smoke like diddly with a drink in hand. Give up the booze and you'll feel even better again. One blip won't make much difference, just learn from your mistakes and don't become a serial blipper. People on here really know what they are talking about!
Silent member - hmm! When I'm logged on I do note the amount of guests but just presumed they were the anonymous mods. You're not a mod are you?
Welcome to the forum anyway and more importanly, congrats for sticking with your quit. Some have said previously, "if you fall over, you gotta pick yourself back up again", or something to that effect. You should use that blip and think how it's affected you; did it help you/make you feel shit*; what have you learned from that experience. Few issues and simple answers to all of them, but sometimes it just comes down to the simple things in life.
You haven't mentioned your preferred quit method. If you haven't heard or even tried Allen Carr's 'Easyway...' then possibly that could be an avenue to explore. It's again not the 'magic bullet', just a helping hand. At the end of the day it's you as an individual who has to do it for yourself and the problems we put in front of ourselves are just relative.
Many here also advocate the 3 R's - Read, Read, Read method. You should be thinking along the lines of educating yourself. And to that effect have a look at some of the information contained in the links displayed in my sig.
All the best...and you don't need to be silent now.

* yeah, we can write shit but not a n a lyse. How crazy is that
Now, come on WkdFairy - you know all the Mods are anonymous, as if I would give it away as cheaply as that!!
Shame on you.
Now i'm like a dog with a bone! Are you or are you not you sneaky snake???I know some forums require mod privs to swear and I can't write ****yse so what is it??
Hi and thanks for the advise it helps to know I’m not the only one who blipped and has managed to stay quit. Sorry I didn’t reply last night but I spent the night in the gym and I’m really starting to notice the difference, I can breathe again:).
WkdFairy79 I’ve no idea what a Mod is but I’m definitely not one:cool:.
I think you are on your way.. the fact the you got upset with yourself is a GOOD thing.... and dont beat yourself up about it.. just move on...and keep going...
