Finally took the plunge and decided to quit last week, I've made it to day5.
When I decided to quit, my 9 year old daughter said that I would soon be back on them. I told her that if I started again I would buy her anything she wanted, she has decided that she wants a "mobile phone that takes pictures and has decent ringtones". So that's one thing I wont be buying her :):).
My 5 year old was then given the same option, she wants "chocolate" :D:D.
Unfortunately for them they dont realise how determined I am to stay off cigarettes for good.

hello, welcome and well done on reaching day 5 looks like you'll have two disappointed children on your hands but they will get over it soon enough goodluck
Your kids may be a bit disappointed but actually you are giving them the best present by giving up. You may be sparing them the pain of watching you die early due to smoking. Sorry to sound a bit morbid but it is reality!
Well done for making the decision to quit - you sound as though you are confident and determined.
I don't think my children will be disappointed, in fact my 9 year old daughter came and sat by me this evening, gave me a huge hug and said "Congratulations on not smoking Dad" .
That alone has been enough for me to say I'd never smoke again.
That must be an ecstatic feeling. They're going to be a great source of insipiration for you. Just think if you're going through a rough patch and maybe thinking of packing it all in, one hug will remind you why you're doing it all in the first place!
I'm just curious, what are they going to buy you for not smoking?
There's no greater reason for stopping than for your kids, not for the fact you may have to buy her a mobile either - didn't see that one coming then eh'.
