No.

I don't see how getting stoned will help anything.

Much better to deal with the problem directly rather than resort to illegal drug use.

(like smokers, drug users will do and say just about anything to justify what they do)

A guy I used to know is a research biochemist that looked into an extract of cannabis for treating a painful eye complaint. Their conclusion was that it wouldn't help the condition but the patient would no longer be aware of it or much else for that matter!!

So I suspect that you are just blissfully unaware of the withdrawal symptoms!!!

This isnt a road you want to go down...you are stopping smoking because it has no plus points in your life!! cannabis is the same! It has its own withdrawal symptoms far more severe than Nicotine. Its is far less addictive yes but it can cause you to suffer anxiety , insomnia and tension headaches through using it.

Its your own call ofcourse , but you asked for advice and i think everyone on here will tell you that in trying to damper your cravings for nicotine by using cannabis then you arent doing yourself any good at all.

I wish you all the best still...but as you can see from the forum that there are other ways to deal with your cravings ....NRT is one , excercising is another...drinking water...eating citrus etc etc etc ...I have never heard of anyone taking up cannabis to beat smoking!

I can confirm that

it distracts you and reduces your memory of needing a smoke after certain activities by quite a bit.... Also lessens cravings (for me at least) in that you are relaxed and not stressed AND things that might stress you otherwise thus causing you to light up... well... you will have no stress.... ergo no lighting up.. mon... I will not pass judgement on it, as I like the odd pure joint... I used it to quit (BUT only the first 4 days and in moderation) without major issues before. Then again I am more tolerant than most as I lived in the Netherlands for quite some time. HUP HOLLAND!

:p:p:p

Yes, I know I will now have to face the endless stream of dope haters.... but hey.... smoke me.... lol

Well I found my Skunk resin finally and skinned up with female leaf instead of baccy......got pretty relaxed but then had the munchies and ate six bowls of tomato soup and 10 bread rolls.

It was worth a go I suppose but didnt stop the craving.

Perhaps this is the reason to your side effects?

If your craving lasted long enough to outlast 6 bowls of soup and 10 bread rolls I would suggest it was either a "supercrave" or, much more likely, a series of separate craves and you missed a few in the middle of your "experience."

Despite what many like to feed us, nicotine addiction theory is actually a load of old tosh. Breaking your smoking habit is crucial and is not going to be helped by your other recreational and conflicting habit.

Try not smoking anything for a while and if you must partake of nature's bountiful produce maybe alter your delivery system to avoid the conflict.

I seem to recall that Bill Bailey's show suggested, cookies, toast and lard..!! as being suitable alternatives.....
