I'm coming up to 4 months - today is day 116, and my best advice is to learn about your addiction by reading.

This forum, Allen Carr's book, whyquit.com and woofmang.com are my favourite resources.

When a crave hits, I found it helps to embrace it. Recognise it for what it is - part of the healing process. It cannot hurt you and it will go away whether or not you smoke.

It will, they all go away on their own.

Another golden rule - a cigarette cannot change anything or help a bad situation. The situation stays the same, but you just smoked.

It also helps a lot to relax, I am lucky enough to live a few hundred yards from a beautiful secluded beach - and a walk along there chucking a few stones into the water always got me back on track.

But, learning about yourself and your own addiction is the best single way to ensure a quit that is as easy as possible to maintain.

I was taught this when I arrived, and I could not be more grateful to those that advised me to read, read, read.
