side effect of stopping using the patches

i just wondered if coming off the patches can cause spots and lack of sleep because i have come up with loads of spots since and i keep waking up in the night then i am wide awake for ages if it is i hope it fades fast xx

Since you were still using nicotine in the form of patches I'd imagine the sleeplessness is a likely side effect of coming off nicotine entirely.

I've always assumed that it was the other nasties that caused the quitzits but I suppose it could be.

I know that I found that my breathing was easier after I came off the lozenges, but that could have been coincidence.

i would say the spots are from stopping smoking full stop. i am covered in the damn things and look like a spotty teenager

the sleepy thing might be cos you have now entirely got rid of the nicotine whereas you still had a bit in your system before

Oh, so that's why!

I am so spotty since I gave up and it got worse as i reduced the patch mg amount. However, I have to say that I have also had more sugar cravings and have gone from having no sweet tooth to eating cake every so often (i.e. four times a week!)

I stopped the patches on Xmas day and noticed recurrent waking, as well as huge tension and irritability. Gradually lessening.
