hey m8,
ur doing so well - 5 days is brill - well done m8.
what to do m8 is keep busy - don't get bored - go 4 a walk (maybe not good at this time of day lol), do some housework, call a friend, call smokeline -
don't give in - u can do it, and a craving only lasts for a few minutes anyway, so its gone b4 u kno it.
keep it up - nearly a week
I know you can do it, just keep 2 golden rules in mind.
1) A cigarette has never helped anything - everything will still be the same, except you smoked.
2) A craving only lasts a few minutes.
Distraction is great, just say that you will have that cigarette in 10 minutes if you still want it.
I guarantee you won't. Because you don't really want it now... your mind is just telling you that you do. You don't want to smoke, do you? Honestly?
cheers guys
hi phil
thanks for that i think i will just go to bed and read a book
must be having a bad hair day... bit of a problem there me got no hair
this happened last time when i hit a magical 107 days as a non smoker but....
the fixation of smoking would not go away and i caved in after thinking about it all day and convinced myself just 1 fag, but as we all know 1 fag leads to another and another.
words are easy and resolve is good but going through a bad crave can be a nightmare.
tim
cheers again guys
thanks for helping again !!!!!!
good to have buddies around.
and yes dont want to smoke but that little thought at the back of your mind tries to convince you ... just one puff
the other think i have noticed is this site has a large amount of quitters who has started in october 2008
WONDER IF ITS THE CREDIT CRUNCH XXX
Tim, its early days, get through the 1st week or 2 and concentrate on changing the way you think about smoking.
In order to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past you need to recognise that smoking is not a great thing that you are sacrificing, you are not missing out.
Hang on in there, you can do this.

have you adopted my guaranteed two stage plan then, it's worth a shot...?
1) simply commit to yourself that you'll always suck an extra strong mint before caving in to a crave and lighting up.
2) if the crave persists for longer than the mint lasts, see step No1.
The only down-side is that you need to like mints.....
I like that one austin - I think I might take that one
Hi Tim
also remember to read as much as you can too.
This is a good place to start
whyquit.com/joel/Joel_04_18...
Hopefully by the time you have read a few pages of whyquit or woofmang the craving will have gone
