Foods that MAY make quitting easier

Following a post on another thread I've been searching for info on foods which may have benefits for people quitting smoking.

So far I've found:-

Oats (Avena sativa) - maybe that's why I'm eating so much flapjack!

Bananas

Anyone know of others?

Knew about the bananas, another one is eating sunflower seeds, just peck away a few at a time during the day, it is supposed to suppress. Stay strong.

Not fat, cuddly!

Quit the fags and then address the weight, if you need to.

You're really comical at times. The average weight we all put on in the first few weeks is 6-7lbs and is to be expected. I thought my teeth had turned into extra strong mints at one point, then I move on to victory v lozenges. I needed to taste something strong with a bite to it. But the result now is that I have sickened myself of these substitutes and am back to eating when I'm hungry. You're just compensating at the moment and one important thing to remember is that excess weight can be reversed with a bit of excercise and discipline, lung disease and a damaged heart muscle can never be reversed.
