One Year Smoke Free

Yup. Thats it. Tomorrow the 23rd July, marks one calendar year since i last smoked a cigarette. Who'd a thunk it.

Its been a journey, but in all honesty an enjoyable one. I just hit it absolutely spot on this time, and as the cliché goes, previous failed attempts steel you for the one that eventually does stick. And trust me, you know when it does. You can just feel it.

I do have to thank writers like Neil Casey who's book was, I suppose, my 'method' and also the Allen Carr books and hypnotherapist Chris Holmes stuff too (check out all of these guy's books, really helps to get your mindstate right and Holme's has got some great stuff on NRT too).

Hanging around this place has helped enormously too, :), I would recommend anybody get a lil' group therapy on here!

Many thanks to everyone on here, from current to past members I've conversed with, through the good and bad (yep, I do mean all of them.)

Just gonna share a couple of threads that I really enjoyed and think are well worth a read.. Austins 'Knowledge' thread and Mojo's 'Whats it all about' thread (some excellent stuff in that one IMO).

One last nugget I can share, although this may be a personal thing: Try to forget your quitting smoking. Sounds hella daft, and easier said than done, but just get on with it. Do what you normally do, just live. Think about daily life, family, your career. And if you have to worry, worry about the things in life that really do require it. Not some daft tobacco thing you used to do. The rest will take care of itself in the end.

Both to be honest, if thats possible. Its nothing bad like an intense crave or anything, just a feeling you get. But it means nothing really.

Easy to accept it and carry on.
