Hi.
As you know I'm in day 2 of the eternal quest. But I am feeling something inside like there is something missing?
Am I the only one?

I'll second that
Well done your doing so great you should be very proud of yourself. x:)
Hi Philip, oh no you're not the only one! I too felt like Grumpy describes, as far as I'm concerned that feeling was the hardest thing to beat in the very first few days, I'd feel empty and lonely and kind of abandoned, 'changed' in a way that scared me because I thought I wasn't controlling it - oh but it all did go, much to my happiness, and quite soon Hang in there because soon you'll wake up feeling like philfromwales says, liberated from unwanted visitors, and when you realize it it's going to be great!

Hi,
The first time I gave up (3yrs ago) I was told that it was a sense of grief I was feeling. Like you've lost something really special to you.
Its normal, so you stick in there. I replaced it with cross stitch ok ok don't laugh! have you thought about what hobby you could start to fill in the gap of horrible, rotton, stinking, expensive cigarettes? Reading, Wii, sit ups, painting, knitting......
smoke free me

Not had it this time but I remeber it well from last time it was a bit like mourning the loss of friend. Basically your body is telling you that its wants the drugs it has grown to depend on back!
Its a phase of quitting, stay strong and you will get though this phase.
Cheers
Nic
Philip,
try and see this feeling from a different perspective. It is the challenge of getting past it which makes the whole process so worthwhile. If you can kick smoking (even when it makes you feel that way) then you can kick anything! I assure you the feeling doesn't last long and soon you will remember what it's like to be free of those stinky white sticks.
It sounds like you're doing great so far so keep it up!
xx
