thats where i work Cat!
its a nightmare .
its their home but they cant smoke, we are supposed to enforce it ...how? what right do we have? i wont tell adults where and when they can smoke!
i know rampton tried to get it overturned but was refused.
its shocking, yet people can smoke in prison!
It must make your job that much harder. Are they making provisions to offer cessation clinics etc to the patients?
there is, but no one cares or would go, they want to smoke in the place they regard as home , as should be allowed, they cant leave either so the choice is taken away from them.
i will be ignoring anyone i see with a cig, the managers can get the "smoke police" in!
This i feel is so so wrong, these people should be allowed to smoke, as mentioned its their home.
I fully support the smoking ban but to a point, there is a fine line between for the good of peoples health and restricting peoples liberties.
If Dot Cotton can fag away in Eastenders for the good of the art then someone in care who by right is at home should be able to smoke.
Sometimes this Nanny State p****s me off.
But if they did not do it the workers in these places could sue the health board for them breathing the smoke in. Not saying I agree but thats how they look at things now a days
I understand that Jay but if thats how they are thinking dont you think it should be across the board. What about the prison guards? the film/tv crew?
