OK...I'm going to dip my toe in the pond and start from here.

Yes, I started again and smoked for about a week, plus the odd one since.

Back to the beginning!

Drat, bother and pish!

Awwwwww Sorry it got the better of you for a while Bill but no matter. In the grand scheme of things, what is a week of smoking when you had gone so long without the smokes and a smoke free lifetime ahead? Well done for stopping again. And so soon!

Its people like you that keep me going sometimes. I'm not happy that you slipped at all, but when I read stories of those that slipped/blipped and got straight back on the wagon, it reminds me that I am right to carry on staying quit. After all, why would all those that slip try again to stop smoking? However, I'd rather nobody slipped or blipped but I guess we've all been there. Myself included.

Well done you and all the best for the future :)

Edit: Just read back what I wrote and I hope it didn't come out wrong! All the best Bill

:)

Damn you Bill!! :mad::eek:

Nah but seriously, these things happen, as we ALL know too well. Get back on that wagon and stay on. You know it makes sense.

Good luck.

Jojo & Bill and for the sake of others

I quit on 6/02/2008 using champix - it was I would say pretty easy - BUT - this last two weeks it has been getting harder NOT easier, If it had not been for the support I have had from a forum member via telephone I fear I would have caved in - I have been hanging on by the skin of my teeth, a personal wager made tonight has lifted me so to speak BUT we all need to remember we may be able to see the trees BUT we are NOT out of the woods yet and maybe never shall be.

BillG - I'll be with you every step of the way.

regards

Sue

Unfortunately Jojo I feel that I am one of those that shall never be able to let down my guard (hense my post above yours) - over 35 years of smoking is bound to have taken it's toll - somehow.

Right BillG lets keep this show on the road, I may not be with you in days but I'm still by you side - your still my quit buddy and i'm still yours, all the very best for today.

regards

That was 3 days ago. How's it going on day 5, nearly the full week? Hopefully you're doing it with a smile on your face this time 'round :)

Hi ,

Yes, thanks, it feels more like an interruption than a new start, thank God.

I learned some stuff, I think.

This quit (the long one) had/has been really easy compared with earlier attempts, and it was because i was still connected with the initial mindset "I've had enough of this'...more than anything by staying in touch with all the folks on here.

But I still smoked again, and without too much thought about it..as if there was always going to be this particular set of circumstances that set me off..SO...I'm beginning to se the point behind Allen Carr's insistence on considering yourself a non-smoker. It's not to deny that you used to smoke...that would be just mad...and it's not to say that you're not an ex-smoker if you look at the timeline....It's to say that new stuff only comes from the present ..NOW has to be the focus...and no past can dictate to NOW because NOW is where all the power is. So, for me, there's some links between 'freedom' (which is one of the things people who have quit talk about) and 'I ....AM....a nonsmoker'.

So, thanks for the concern, and, so far..." I AM A NONSMOKER"

(Again!!!!!:D:D:D)
