I and many others here have tried to quit before without success - but seem to be winning this time around. I really believe having this forum is a great help.
I used Champix for 9 weeks and have also done a lot of reading. Alan Carr is to be recommended.
Jill, Friday is gonna be a great day! Why? Because you will be getting rid of the nasty nicotine!! Thats a great accomplishment so don't dread Friday! You'll do just fine
Oh, and make a note of the fags you smoke from tomorrow onwards. Note the time and give each fag an enjoyment level between 1 and 10 (10 being the best).
I think you will find, most of these fags are just being smoked just for the hell of it. Not because you REALLY wanted one. If you was to pick out only the fags you REALLY 'enjoyed', there wouldn't be that many.
You could then use these notes to remind you just how much you 'thought' you 'enjoyed' them when you have stopped.
Its as Carr says, when we smoke, we want to stop, when we don't smoke, we then want to. Go figure!
Good luck on your quits, I think it really helps to read just about everything you can find on smoking, really seems to reiterate why we get so hooked, I'm just entering week 3 and finding it easier than I anticipated before I quit but it's still hard work. But then nothing's easy if it's worth doing!!!
