Am new to this have never been on a forum before, I live in Lanzarote have been almost smoke free for 5 weeks 3 days although I have had the odd puff of my Husbands ciggy. I am using NRT patches, but am finding that I have a bad taste in my mouth has anyone else had this, have tried to leave of the patch, but then get all nervous and agitated. Have been thinking of going to the Hypnotist that we have on the Island. Help we do not have any support groups etc over here.:

First off well done for getting this far without any formal support!
Hypnotherapy has helped many people but (sadly) didn't work for me. That said, it is a fantastic tool to aid relaxation - and five weeks into your quit - that may be all you need.
Good luck whatever you decide!
Edit: How about hypno cd's or tapes? Might work out better value as you can re - listen whenever you feel the need to!
You will have good support off here. Cant see it will do any harm there is a member called Kenny who has tryed it. But you sound like your doing fine 5 weeks is great let us know how you get on Linda xxxxxxxxxx

Hi I lived on Gran Canaria for 5 years, the sun should help you feel less depressed! But not the lack of seasons!!
I tried NRT but felt it yo- yoed my cravings (tried Inhaler and found best result) but since then I have found it impossible with NRT. Try Hypnotherapy CD, Paul McKenna good one. Keeps you feeling level and helps by positive suggestion.
Yes, I've found somebody else who is on a yoga kick!
I have to say it's been great for me..far more interesting and productive than I thought and a great positive aspect to occupy my mind which, otherwise, can become over full with the preoccupation of doing without cigs.
I tried hypnotherapy and it was an expensive flop for me. Must have a lot to do with the moment and the practitioner, in my view. I've met people for whom it has worked well.
Seems to me you'll have lost nothing if you try...and, at least got some information. If you're really committed to stopping the foul, disgusting, futile (etc etc etc) habit of taking that toxic smoke into your poor body, then YOU WILL.
I find the forum has been fantastic. it's great to discover so many people who are so ready to befriend and be with each of us in our efforts. I'm ready with what I've got. Humans can be great at times, huh?
