Where I am!

I think i've decided for myself there are 2 types of quitters:

1 Those who embrace the change and look forward to all the benefits it brings.

2 The rest who miss the act of smoking although do realise the benefits of stopping. This makes us generally unhappy people!!

Unfortunately I am still the latter but i live in hope this will improve with time!! It also explains to me the many different views and threads on this forum.

Please no doctors advice, this is purely my view of where I think many of us are :)

That said I have stopped nicotine for 2 months, 18 days, 9 hours, 6 minutes and 54 seconds (78 days).

I've not smoked 2351 death sticks, and saved £648.72.

I've saved 8 days, 3 hours and 56 minutes of my life.

Happy Easter :D

Wise words, Gary :)

I really believe I was a Type 2 on all my previous quits, and that is why I was unsuccessful

I'm proud to be a Type 1 this time around, and hope and pray that never changes! :)

I think Im 95% #1, 5% #2, working on the second every day!

Same here Mojo - well done Gary for getting into 2 months :D

I'd say I was a mix between the two. Mostly #2 but sometimes I have my good moments where I am leaning more heavily with #1!!

I always strive to be number one... so its definetly driving me nuts to be half number two right now... something else to keep me going!

Moral of the story ... dont be a shit! (#2, get it?) :D

Mwahahahah !!!!! Took me a few seconds though! :) :) :)

Yup,

Most of us are a mix.

D'you. know, I think, for me, being on this forum has meant that I'm a no1 type this time, almost all the time.

Something about staying in touch with the original decision, thanks to all the great people on here!

Hooray!

Bill

I have absolutely no expectations about being a 1. I know I'm a 2 and have planned my quit accordingly.

I definitely miss SOME things about smoking, although the ones that made me want to stop are proving increasingly attractive.

I just walked into this room after having been outside for quite a while and I actually grinned when I realised that for the first time in AGES it doesn't stink. There was a very pleasant scent from the flowers I bought myself (I don't have anyone who'd buy them for me, right now) :( which was quite overpowering.

Considerably better than the stench of stale fags which has been the over-riding (and unremovable) smell in this room for the last year or so.

Frankly, that's all I need to want to stay off the dreaded weed. (And no, I don't want to consider the alternative of not smoking simply in THIS room because I and my clothes would continue to stink...)

I smoked my last cigarette 1 Week, 1 Day, 5 hours and 53 minutes ago. I have saved £75.19 by not smoking 329 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 3 hours and 25 minutes of my life.

Oh I agree. Its incredibly important to try and become number 1. If you cant shake number 2 you'll struggle with your quit for ever.

May sound pessimistic but its true!

I'm pleased i posted that as it seems i was right :cool:

No really, it's good to see others perspective on their own quits.

Glad we are all still at it.

hmmmm

I am not one to deprive myself ... believe me........

So I don't know if I am actually playing at giving up ..... for a challenge or what. Especially to surprise people and get up their nose actually .. how awfull am I.

My uncle gave up as a noble action to help his son .. and he looks at the rest of his life as being awfull being unable to smoke, which is so sad.

I don't think like that, infact I don't think he should give up, because he doesnt want to.

I do want to but sometimes along the way I forget how awfull it was ...

Hopefully this will give some hope to others of you still struggling :)

gosh i really done know - in my head (particularly my nose) i am def a non smoker, hate it, and love being fitter. But there is just some damn bit of me that occasionally says 'christ i want a fag' so maybe i am 85% #1 and 15% #2.

I must say that anyone who knows me is very surprised that i have lasted this long as i loved my cigs - oh and no quit meter as it wont work on lap top!?
