yesterday was my first dayas a non smoker and so far so good. Today is day 12 on Champix and I don't seem to have any of the side effects that have been mentioned elsewhere on this site (sickness, vivid dreams etc). I must admit I was a bit worried about the mention of suicidal tendancies whilst on Champix as I already suffer for quite bad depression but my doc reassured me.
Anyway, my husband gave up yesterday too (he's on patches) so hopefully we can help each other get through it this time and never smoke again!

I did feel sick about 5 minutes after having a cigarette. so bad in fact that I gave up 5 days early. Had thought I would give up next wednesday but the feeling after smoking was so dreadful that I had really cut down the number I could face and decided that was a sign. Now i haven't had any for 36 hours the sickness had been here. I had read that some people feel sick all the time on Champix. I don't think I could have done that - would probably given them (the pills) up!
Congratulations Eileen. I'm sure you and your hubby can help each other through this
