I am now on day 14 on zyban and have just ceremoniously put out my last ever cigarette.
I have cut down tremendously on the zyban and i'm confident this time will be a success.

Ye it's hard keeping yourself busy unless you go mad cleaning as in my case - I had a day off from work today and found myself in the gym - have only been in a gym about twice in my life and I'm 37 but willing to do anything to keep busy even if I have to make a fool of myself.

I'm off to the gym tonight to keep myself busy too. I'd be going anyway but tonight i'll be more determined to push myself that little bit more.
First thing I used to do after the gym was light up outside. Any suggestions how to overcome this habit?

How can getting fit get you pregnant? My mum told me you had to have sex!
Unless you were up to no good in the changing rooms!!!

Just be firm with yourself that you're not doing that anymore. Good news is that new habits form very quickly so not lighting up will be second nature in a few weeks.
you have got to watch her darren, dossy is a bit like that
omg that would make you a voyeur
I'd like that!!!:)

Good luck Darren ....
I was exactly the same, on Zyban too, constantly wringing my hands together
Well that's the first 24 hours done with.
I thought it seriously a doddle until 4pm when I started feeling faint and had a very unpleasant taste in my mouth.
I took some glucose tablets to get my blood sugar levels back up and had a couple of hours sleep, then felt absolutely fine.
I'm pleased with myself for what I've achieved today and today's £5 cig money has gone in the treat pot.
So you should be pleased Darren. The first day over and done with. Probably, the first smoke free day for yonks! WELL DONE YOU.
Love Josie
Hello
Yep I've quit (on Champix) but I think i need some mates to help me stay quit. Had last ciggie in mid October 07. Did a silly thing with a cig over the festive season - nothing since. I'm thrilled but I know I still need to keep the faith to stay off the fags. This forum seems like people look out for each other, can I be in your gang?

Update:
It's now almost 39 hours smoke free, and I'm surprised just how much easier this attempt is compared to the others.
The zyban is not a miracle pill, but it has certainly done something.
I am now addicted to glucose tablets, but apart from that, all is fine.
I now realise just how bad smokers smell, as I went out at lunch time and could smell smokers walking past. Did I really used to smell that bad?
Anyway, after today it's a tenner in the treat pot and I'm looking forward to hitting the Trafford Centre with my new found wealth in a few weeks.
Keep up the messages of support, it means a lot that there are others who are encouraging me to do this.
Way to go Darren your still marching along like a trooper
The treat pot and shopping trip is great insentive x x x x
Smell fresh and clean in your new gear

Neither.
Thank God for that LOL ...... Well done though Darren your doing great, keep up the good work. Good luck xxx
Thanks for the really warm welcome new best friends. The silly thing with the cig? put it in my mouth and set fire to it, crazy uh? What I should have done is soaked it in water making it impossible to light. Anyway now I've confessed to my new friends I'm going back in to denial and going to say that I've been a non smoker since mid October. This is my best attempt yet and it is getting easier but I'm not going to be complacent. Nice friendly forum you've got here.
Hi there..
I dont suppose you would want to try knitting? heehee...works for me. Honestly though, I am only on Day 4 and try to keep busy - we must create new rituals and pretty soon they become the norm. Glad you are here - this is such a great site..makes me feel like a part of a huge NON SMOKING movement ...WELCOME!!
Hi Free and Darren!!! Welcome to the forum The folks here are whacked, but we love them anyway!!! You guys are doing amazing so keep up the good work and keep posting
Update:
Just into day 8 smoke free.
It's not been too bad, although my teeth have probably all rotten away due to excessive intake of cola cubes and mint imperials.
And at the end of today, I will be £40 richer.
