Any one on here got any plans for holidays this year?
Holidays that we could only dream about as smokers cos they were beyond our means?
Trips that we would never have had the confidence to do before but now that confidence is there?
Flights that we can now take because we arent worried about not being able to smoke for 10 hours?
Activities that we can now enjoy because of increased energy and health?
Ive just sorted ours out and i cant tell you how excited i am!!!!!!
We are going to Sorrento for 5 days so we can do Pompeii and Vesuvius.
Then later in the year we are doing a weeks liveaboard diving round the scilly isles and the south coast. Might see Basking sharks and dolphins!!!

Yep booked just after christmas, going to salu for two weeks half board in May. all on the back of the Quit. i saved £350.00 from oct 18th for crimbo. And hubby a bit less as he rolled his own, sooooo a holl in sunny spain is our reward for continueing to not smoke. we off to Liverpool for a weekend away 2nd feb for a taster. then be off somewhere in sept ish, AS LONG AS WE DONT SMOKE  its all good wooopie. i think its best to save the cash for a treat or it just gets soaked up in the family budget. thats one thing i learned from my last quit. Rewards are VERY important.....
They all sound fantastic. Vesuvius is a lot steeper towards the top than it looks so you're going to need all the lung capacity you've got!
Haven't booked anywhere for this year so far but would love to go back to new york. Was hoping for a weekend away for my birthday but bf has announced that he's going to london to watch football that night - not happy with that!
We're hoping to drive down to the south of france and see the milua (sp?!) bridge sometime this year - if we're still speaking by that point!
Yep I am book already. 2 weeks in Ibiza AI and cannot wait. We went there last year and loved it so much we rebooked as soon as we got home.
Last year my husband broke his leg 4 days before we were due to go. So i left him at home and took the kids He did manage to get a letter from the Dr and joined us for the second week.
We were lucky enough last year to spend time in central america and we stayed a few days at the foot of Arenal. We rode up it (lazy!) and watched it erupt (best views at night) cos its constantly bubbling away. Lovely.
Have no idea whether the air was cold around Vesuvius as I was sweating so much from the effort! Would like to think that I'd run up there no problem now but despite not smoking am still v v unfit - am going to plan my holidays somewhere flat this year

Have to say what a wonderful thread to start. It chased the blues away for me today. even if we all havent booked you have reminded us all those travel worries are no more. thankyou. xxx
Dunno yet to be honest. I also am terrified by flying although I force myself to do it once a year otherwise I'd never go on holiday lol.
With some friends theres been talk of Florida, sounds good, but not sure I could manage that long on a plane, most I've ever done is 4 hours to 'Rife and Lanza!
Last year we went to spain (partner was not looking forward to flying AT all) But loved it said it was best part of holiday so hopefully will have holiday again this year. Last year was the first and we been together for 29 years.Linda xxxx
