I was never that terrible for getting up in the morning, but I can definitely feel a difference that way. I'm waking up slightly before I need to and feeling rested and ready to get up. Yeps.
No coughing here, but I really do think that varies so much depending on the person and on circumstances (as you say, it may just be a cold!).
Now that I think about it... I'm so looking forward to not ****ysing every single symptom/reaction/feeling in terms of quitting and going back to being a person with other things to talk about . I suppose that's the good thing about this forum, you don't bore anyone cause everyone's feeling exactly the same way or at least understands...
I feel much better in the mornings too, i used to wake up and feel like i had only been asleep for a couple of hours. I definately feel more refreshed now
I think ill put the coughing down to the cold as well
Oh I have been coughing terrible too, nasty stuff too it is common, it's the lungs clearing out the nasty stuff that continul smoking wouldn't allow before.
My chest has been very tight and lungs aching for the last 3 days! It actualy all feels marginaly better today!!
Week 2 will be such a relief after the pain of week 1!
It is well documented that coughing is normal as your lungs try to get rid of all the years of abuse. I spent the last few days tight chested and feeling like I had actually increased my smoking level. this was just my body re-adjusting itself. Sometimes referred to as "quitter's flu" apparently.
I woke up really early this morning tossing and turning. Got up an hour or so earlier than normal.
Apparently, this is common too since as a non-smoker, you need less sleep.
Have a look at whyquit.com - there is lots of useful information relating to symptoms.
I've had a real dry throat and tickly cough but it seems to be getting better as the days go on. I'm on the Nicorette Inhalators which I think hasn't helped but am finding I am using it less now so the coughing and dryness is getting less.
Buffy, you are disgusting. But l know exactly how you feel. I have also had problems breathing the last 3 days. Has anyone else had breathing problems?
