Haven't had chance to participate over the last few days as my lap top kept turning itself off for some reason after only being on for 5mins or so. Steve stripped it down and found it was something to do wit the network card?? Well
it works now so who cares what the problem was?!
Anyway I'm back now and on day 49 . Seven whole weeks - who'd thunk it?certainly not me! I'd be telling porkies if I said its been easy peasy every day-but the good days certainly outnumber the bad ones especially now. At first I didn't reckon I would make the 7 day mark let alone the 7 wk. BUT i can honesty say that as you put more time beween your last fag and where you are now the easier things get. I think it was Buffy who once told me a habit takes about 28 days to break or deveop a new one. It was hard at first as I aways used cigs as a 'reward' ie:do washing-have cig,Clean bathroom-have cig etc
Now after doing these tasks w/o a cig for a few weeks,I don't even think about a cig. I guess its just learning to do stuff the same as non smokers do and they manage ok. Stuff stil gets done
I suppose what I am trying to say is that although seven weeks isn'ta great deal of time compared to some people on here its a start and in the words of D.Ream "Things can only get better!"

Oh Kazza, bravissima!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ever so proud of you, I love your attitude and I just know that indeed you are killing your addiction for good Trust me sweetie, 7 weeks is a HUGE mark! If there is one occasion where each and every small step is in fact huge and equally important, that is in quitting smoking Way to go my lil great star!
Thanks everyone. I know I've still got a way to go but I feel that I am finally going for the 'home straight'. After so many (failed) attempts I didn't think I was ever going to live w/o cigs. I reckoned I woud be buried with 20 L&B in my coffin! Now I've discovered even after only 7 weeks life DOES go on!! In fact its infinitely better. My only regret is that I could've packed up long ago . To everyone just starting out - stick with it folks!
I would love to you know, i was thinking that the other day but I have a funny feeling they would not let me loose on patients
Dunno why. They should be honored. I am sat here watching the local news and its just shown a video( taken by a lad with his phone)of 2 policemen buying a packet of cigs for the lads mate! Unbloodybelievabe!!!! Apparrently the lad posted the video on You Tube for all the world to see. I think letting you loose on patients woud be a much smarter idea than having police like that on the streets!
