Day 10 "But only just..."

Hello everyone,

I have only just crept into day 10 of my no smoking campaign, so I thought I'd get a quick message in before sitting down and watching some TV.

My local store is a "Co-op" and is about 5 miles away (Yes I live in the middle of a field, hey it's Norwich we are all farmers, and my favorite tractor is a green John Deere)

Now its a funny thing, at 20:00 hrs I started on my latest adventure / mission. I left my office and infiltrated the house, where my wife was watching TV. I successfully stole a crisp £10.00 note and the car keys without anyone noticing, quickly I exited the premises and hopped into my escape vehicle. By the time my family had realized that something was amiss I was blagging down the country lanes at the speed of light, my secret mission was nearly complete.

I abandoned my car in the family parking bays outside the main doors to the Co-op (After all, I had the booster seat in the car). Walking calmly to the counter I looked the assistant in the eyes and asked for a Lighter, a Pouch of Drum tobacco and a pack of Liquorice rolling papers. I was seconds away from pure happyness once again.

Then out of the blue the assistant said "Sorry sir, we have run out of liquorice rolling papers".

My plan was thwarted by useless staff, I only smoked Drum tobacco and liquorice rolling papers (I don't like anything else... AARRRGGGHHHH). And I don't mind but they ran out 3 weeks ago when I purchased the last pack of liquorice papers. How long does it take for someone to realise that when something is out of stock it needs re-ordering.

Anyhow, I had two choices, a further 5 miles to Tesco's or Home. Needless to say I ended up travelling home in a sulky mood.

It just goes to show the best laid plans and all that...

So I was close to being a smoker again (hey tomorrows another day).

And things like that don't happen to James Bond...

Bet thats not true, bet you would of felt guilty and disappointed

I worry about you! your hours seem so very cruel! I think a midnight drive with John Deere would be more entertaining and a great escape to help take your mind off that evil baccy.

My mum always used liquorice papers ~ orange packet, I used to eat them she would be a little peeved to say the least when she went for a rolly and i had sucked through the entire pack!

007 doesn't need to smoke to be swarve and sophisticated, he'd rock on John deere in the midnight hour!

Well after a busy day of TV shopping I decided to pop into the local Pizza Hut for lunch, and I have to say I am sooooo glad that I didn't start smoking last night again. It might be down to the weather but today seems to be alot more managable.

You need to thank the shop as if they had the papers in stock you would be smoking again,,,,, Good luck and keep us informed
