The annual No Smoking Day campaign, which is now in its 33rd year, inspires and helps smokers who want to quit, and is supported by an alliance of UK health bodies and charities. This year the big day is March 9.
One in five UK adults smoke, doubling their risk of heart attack and stroke. Stopping smoking is the single best thing you can do for your heart health, and the risk to heart health decreases significantly soon after stopping.
New statistics from the Health and Social Care Information Centre reveal that half of all people who successfully quit smoking, set the date they planned to stop. Make March 9 the date you stop.
As well as joining this forum you can get involved in No Smoking Day 2016, Wednesday March 9 and receive information and support on stopping smoking by visiting nosmokingday.org.uk/ and joining the conversation on Twitter by following @NoSmokingDay and using the hashtag #NoSmokingDay.
