Keeping your tinnitus induced and super sensitised sympathetic nervous system under control
Namely cortisol, adrenaline and
noradrenaline
. In order to reduce these hormones, we engage the other side of the autonomic nervous system by carrying out relaxed exercise. " Mmmm The above is easier said than done!!!!

Thinking About Trazodone? Think Again.
I noticed my RLS worsen after having Covid, but I also started to take Trazodone 25mg several times a week around this time. I doubled my iron and all was fine. Since October I’ve been taking 50mg of Trazodone every night. I have developed “sleep anxiety” whenever I have an early morning meeting, doctors

Thyroid hormones in the regulation of brown adipose tissue thermogenesis
This paper is the fourth most-cited in 2023 from the Endocrine Connections journal. Basic thyroid research is interesting. It is read. Scientists and some medical professionals do want more understanding. As do patients. It gets pretty complicated but the point is, thyroid hormone controls temperature

PNT article on recent success in generating locus coeruleus (LC) norepinephrine (NE) neurons, to study their role in diseases such as PD.
"Nerve cells originating in the locus coeruleus extend throughout the brain and spinal cord via an extensive branching system, where they release norepinephrine to regulate heartbeat, blood pressure, arousal, memory, and attention." "In Parkinson’s, the locus coeruleus is one of the first brain regions

ADD Medication
I just had an interesting thought and inquiry about the relationship between specific neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine as a relates to very long chain, fatty acid metabolism, in peroxisomes. Surprisingly, there is a bit of a link, but it’s not clearly understood. My question is,

what do you do when you’re “off”
Someone recently told me that dopamine breaks down to
noradrenaline
and then to adrenaline, which can feel anxiety especially when movement is difficult. My tendency is to want to sit still until this passes, which can take what feels like forever. what do you do?

Life after meds?
Hello. I was on antidepressants and stimulants for nearly 30 years. I chose to discontinue Cymbalta last August based on the lack of evidence of its effectiveness for long term use or how it affects the aging brain. Looking back, I still experienced many bouts of severe depression even while taking it

Crosstalk between the neuroendocrine system and bone homeostasis
Immensely frustrating that the abstract is so sparse and that is all we can access. At present, I simply hope we can get away from the extremely simplistic view that low TSH, in itself, causes bone problems. But all we can really see is that it is complicated.

Third ablation, beta blocker change or something else?
Afternoon all, Looking for a bit of advice, I had my first ablation which was a 5 hour operation Feb 7th 2019! Had to shock me 6 times as well as do the ablation! Eventually put me onto flecainide which kept it in rhythm. I came off flecainide in May 2019, and was ok until July when AFib returned.

Vagal Nerve Stimulation (tVNS) Research Summary
Some definitions for clarity. Neuromodulation, stimulating nerves (usually with electricity) to change (hopefully improve) or control their function. Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is a form of neuromodulation. Neuromodulation can be invasive, requiring surgery (like DBS) or noninvasive which provides

What to do about Adderall Toxicity, i.e. it messes with your endocrine system. Withdrawal, long term side effects.
Anyone else have to deal with Adderall Toxicity? Adderall messing with your endocrine system? Not overdosing or to that extreme. But long term use where your body is dependent on the medication and there are long term side effects. i.e. if you crash and out if you stop taking adderall, or have found

Thyroid Hormone Use in Mood Disorders: Revisiting the Evidence
Discussion about using thyroid hormones in psychology and psychiatry is all too rare. For that reason, even short papers like this have their own value. It is not that there haven't been papers - but there aren't that many and, by the time we see them, they can appear as if they are historical documents

what else is deficient in PD? Norepinephrine?
should PD patients be supplementing other chemicals, neurotransmitters such as norepinephrine (NE) as well as dopamine? How would one supplement NE?

When Anxiety Strikes
“One [thing] I have learned is to live for the day and the moment rather than looking back to the past or worrying about the future. I also have discovered that it is best to live within my limitations—to step back and take things easy if I’m having a bad day. Otherwise I only find myself frustrated

Adrenaline dominance
https://theenergyblueprint.com/adrenaline-dominance-dr-michael-platt/ This is kind of interesting and a different theory. This doctor believes adrenaline is the root cause of many problems. I think it’s interesting because dopamine is broken down by beta hydroxylase to norepinephrine then by PNMT to
