Has any one gone through infusion cycles using Obinitusamab and bendamustine 6 cycles. What side effects and how did you deal with side effect symptoms.

Hi! I just started a 6-month cycle taking bendamustine and rituximab. Rituximab is a monoclonal drug that works with the body's own immune system to fight the cancer. Not the same combination that you are taking but I believe Obinitusamab is also a monoclonal drug used for immunochemotherapy.

That said I just started on my 6-month infusion cycle on December 6, 2021. Infusion was conducted over two days. First day was about 6 hours long - was told to expect up to 8 hours depending on how well I tolerated the drugs. Second day was bendamustine only which took less than an hour. My Oncologist gave me a healthy dose of Steroids to lessen the side effects from the drugs - they worked splendidly for the first 4 days.

Now I am 9 days into cycle 1 with the steroids worn off. Side effects are minimal: dry throat, slight balance issues, slight nausea - but everything handled with meds that were prescribed in advance. Feeling great, heading out this AM for a 3-mile walk. I'd certainly be interested in exchanging updates as we move forward through our respective treatments. Also, feel free to ask me absolutely anything about specifics, etc. Best wishes for a positive start to your treatment!

Went through six cycles of bendamustine and Rituxan also, finished this week. PET scan at half way was CR and will have another PET end of January. Side effects are minimal, steroids keep me up, had some AFIB taking beta blocker for this. Keep walking, stay active, no nausea, a bit of fatigue. Anticipation is worse than the treatment. Some minor intestinal issues, taken care of with over-the-counter meds. Considering two-year Rituxan maintenance depending on second PET and oncologist's suggestions.

I am sorry for responding late. Frankly, I haven't noticed the post. Yes, I did have Bendamustine and Rituximab combo, twice. The first time, it was just after my diagnosis. It kept me in remission for a little over 4 years. After my bloods started behaving badly again, my doctor then, decided, he will repeat the treatment. So after almost 4.5 years, I had the same two infusions again. It worked only for few months this time and, after that, I had developed mutation, As far as the reaction to the medication itself, I had some skin and gastrointestinal problems. Nothing major, nevertheless unpleasant, but supportive measures were a great help. I was using baking soda in my bath water, unscented, hypoallergenic cream for skin, and for my stomach issues and to fight increased acidity, I got prescription meds, and they were helping. It was about 10 years ago when I had this treatment. Wishing you a supper positive results. Everything else, could be conquered.
