Psoriasis and NHL

I thought my oncologist would think I was crazy when I told him I have psoriasis (mostly on me scalp) and I wondered if there was a correlation between that and active NHL. To my surprise there is! I told him the longer I was out of remission the worse it got but went away after chemo. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder and the doctor has seen other patients with the same condition.

Bottom line: don’t be afraid to ask crazy questions.

I have stage 4 marginal zone NHL and get itchy inner elbows and scaly "spots" on and off on my neck. Not sure if it is the lymphoma.

Itchy is one of the Lymphoma symptoms that I have from time to time, but Ive had psoriasis for months and I know it won’t clear up until after I start treatment again.

It’s worth asking your doctor about.

Same thing with my daughter. She had psoriasis on hands and feet. After chemo it went away.

Her Cancer started out as Non Hodgkin Lymphoma (very slow moving cancer) which turned into Diffuse Large B Cell Cancer (very fast moving Cancer. Had Stem Cell Therapy for the Diffuse Large B Cell but only worked a short time and the DLBC reappeared again.

So her oncologist quickly got her into the Car T immunotherapy trial for NHL which she received in Roswell Park Cancer Institution in Buffalo. Which we are very thankful for as she has been in remission for 1 year.
