Me partner has follicular low grade non Hodgkin's lymphoma and has also had an aggressive form last year which was treated with chemotherapy and stem cell treatment . He has just been told the lymphoma is active again and has been feeling unwell since January. He has been given 4mg daily dose of dexamethasone for 7 days and is starting bendamutine chemo next week. He will be having 3 treatments 21 days apart does anyone have any experience of these treatments

Sorry to hear that you are dealing with the Lymphoma again so soon. One side effect that I had was a body rash to Bendamustine during my second set of infusions. Looked like I was sunburned everywhere but around my eyes, they were white. It is a common reaction and Benadryl and a topical cream helped. My rash did not itch but that is not common at all, supposed to itch like crazy. Good news is that Benda is extremely effective against slow growing Follicular Lymphoma. I too had a combo of fast/slow cells and I received 2 different types of cocktails; my first 4 rounds were R-CHOP and that took care of the fast cells and then I had 2 rounds of R-Benda, and that took care of the slow growing cells. Prayers for complete success and remission.

I had Bendamustin (6 treatments) along with Rituxan. I had minimal side effects. It's one of the better chemo treatments although some people have bad reactions.

Thank you Calipewings for your reply we were given an information sheet about the bendamustine and it does say that hopefully there should not be too many side effects let's hope it is successful

Yes, I too was told that Benda is overall tolerated a lot better, and because of that, age is a determining factor when receiving this course of treatment vs. other more aggressive regimens.
