Hello everyone. I've not been here in a while due one thing and another. A week ago I got a letter saying that I was officially on the waiting list. I don't really no how I feel about this? I'm happy but at the same time I'm nervous. Also to add to it I so my real Dr whom I dislike and he just put me down for feeling worried and anxious about it all. I know I'm not going to get a straight answer to this but. ....... how long are you likely to wait on the waiting list?

Thanks guys, sorry for not being here.

My advise is to just get on with life and don't worry about it. I was on the list for over 4 years and got my transplant on 30th Oct 2012. Life is sooo much better now!!

STOP worrying! The time people are on the transplant list varies from about 2.5 years to many more. The important thing is you are on the List. If your hospital has a Kidney Patients' Association then go to their meetings and get involved. Otherwise you can always phone the National Kidney Federation if you would like to talk to someone.

Good Luck!

Just because you get a letter saying you are on a waiting list, does not mean you are truly on it. The real truth lies within the blood if they are drawing blood from you once a month for that particular purpose. then you know you are on the list. it is healthy to feel scared, excited, happy, and all those mixed up feelings. believe me as they used to say "This too shall pass". Now is the time to start claiming what you want out of life despite the sugar and forget the crap. speaking out loud and laying things out in the universe will help you. speak out loud things like I feel great, i can pee, my skin is clear, i can eat better. be-careful what you ask for you just might get it. and then watch god move you to a better place in your life.

It varies according to age, health, blood group and antibodies so just try to stay healthy whilst waiting. I asked at my clinic and they said the average is about 3 years but as I said it varies so just get on with life.
