Please try not to worry that can make things worse just keep hydrated (most important) & eat a healthy diet could be that having young children you tend to neglect your own health sometimes x

I agree with phillen, look after yourself as well as the children. Plenty of water. Keep off certain foods. Dont't drink spirits they will make you worse. Have a look at recipes for kidney problems. I have one kidney, 4 children still going strong at 73 yrs old xx

It is very normal to feel frightened as any deviation is scary.

Get a list of questions together and make an appointment to see your doctor..have them explain them to you as well as a treatment plan.

I agree to continue to stay hydrated and eat healthy..lots of fruits and vegetables; no ted meat and watch the salt.

You are not alone as we are all here to stand by you!

Stay strong!

B..

Agree with Bet and Phillen advice. The good news is, if you are borderline that means you have caught any issues that might arise early on so you can make diet and lifestyle changes to slow any progression. Fear of the unknown is the most stressful part, so find out as much info from your doctors as you can so you can develop a plan of action to take control of your own health.

Sending you a cyber hug!

hi kaylz..iv had transplant so can make a little sense of it...it seems as if you have misheard some information..protein in blood is normal but blood in urin which shows as protein is not good because it says that kidneys are leaking ..damaged by blood presure or desease..i think it would be a good idea to return to doctor and ask them to explane in laymens terms what it means...a little info is dangerous..please dont worry...ask for more info..take care chris

hi.if your not happy with what a doctor says you can ask for a second opinion from another doctor or specialist..if your worried about asking doctor..ask secretary..all the best chris

This is why patients should not be given test results until the doc is available and willing to interpret them and answer questions. There is a saying that goes, "When you hear hoof beats think horses, not zebras," meaning look for the simple, more common causes for these lab results rather than imagining the worst. Truly, there really is no need to panic . These labs may indicate nothing more than that you have been living a high stress lifestyle. The liver and kidney values probably mean only that you encountered something you are allergic to, or you're fighting off a cold virus, or eating too many fatty foods, or you got dehydrated or took a med that didn't agree with you, or most likely that you have a raging urinary tract infection, as indicated by the blood in your urine. The same exact scenario happened to me, except that I was given the info I needed at the time I received the lab results and so I was spared the fear you are going through. Remember, those values are only a snapshot of your blood at one moment in time. It could be very different the next time, and I suggest you request repeat tests if it will help put your mind at ease. That said, in my opinion you may need an antibiotic NOW for what is probably a urinary tract infection. Don't wait a month to find out if you do need it because in one month such an infection can indeed harm your kidneys. The vitamin deficiencies you mention are pretty common and often occur in people who feel to busy to take care of themselves with proper diet and lifestyle choices. They are easily fixed so probably not much to worry about there. You may have other vitamin or mineral deficiencies too, that could be contributing to your "frazzled" and anxious state of mind. Vitamin C, D3, Magnesium, and Zinc, as well as all the other B vitamins come to mind, also easily fixed with dietary changes and maybe some supplements. I suggest you find a more supportive doctor or nurse practitioner immediately because it sounds like your current doc is not very helpful, and because I really believe you need an Rx for an antibiotic now. Meanwhile, drink lots of water, try to meditate, eat a healthy diet and REST! Try to relax because all your worrying is churning out stress hormones that just make you feel worse. Take care of yourself. This is most likely a temporary condition and will soon be behind you. I know everyone here has at least some idea of what you're going through so you are not alone. I am thinking good thoughts for you and sending prayers and I know others are too. Please post again to let us know how you are doing.
