Has anyone had Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy?

Iv been reading about this herbal treatment and it sounds like every ckd sufferes prayers have been answered,

It can stop blood and protein in urine, raise gfr and reverse kidney damage and has worked on over 90% of ckd cases the only downside is you have to go to china for the treatment,

I wonder why we can't get this seemingly miracle treatment in our own country?

Does anyone know what the actual treatment is?

Has anyone actually gone down this route of treatment?

First my apologies to anyone offended by my response. I've just been told by every doctor that there is no cure for CKD and the best that we can do is attempt to slow down the progress by changing our diet and lifestyle. There is a consensus of medical expertise that agrees that there is no cure. That may explain why it's not available outside of China.

Again, my apologies as I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I'm not sure I understand so does it work in China ? But not the rest of the world or is it just a scam to con people

in reply to Stevo99

My opinion is that until it's recognized outside of China (in the medical community) I'll stay off that road. Of course, that's my opinion and I could be wrong.

Glad you said it, Mr. Kidney. I agree with your assessment of the treatment.

I have had excellent results applying Chinese medicine OUTSIDE China... acupuncture, Chinese herbs and application of ginger poultices have lowered my creatinine and urea considerably. If you can find a VERY good practitioner of Ch. med where you live, there is no need to travel to China. There are some experts living in the USA and in Israel.

That's great to know, I live in uk but its nice to know there's something / someone out there that can help,

I must look in to it

Can you please let me know any of those Chinese experts in USA, especially in MN. Thank you.

The fda keeps this treatment from being here n the US. A lot of the dialysis clinics would simply go out of business.

Boy you hit that nail on the head!!

I've read about it. I'd volunteer to be a participant in a test study in the US...but you know that it is highly unlikely that the would ever bring something like that here. :(

Proper medication (Medical Science) coupled with kidney friendly diet (Nutritional Science) is the only treatment that can perform miracles IF followed religiously.

Medical Science - the science of dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention and treatment of disease.

Nutritional Science - is the study of the effects of food components on the metabolism, health, performance and disease resistance of human and animals.

P.S. If you can actually fly without a plane (Aeronautical Science) in China then please go ahead and do so!

The thing is, the majority of mainstream doctors do not follow any sort of holistic approach, although I think this might be changing slowly. I have rarely found a mainstream doctor who will advise any type of advice on food, suppliments or alternative therapies like yoga and meditation. Occassionally you'll get an offhanded remark like " maybe try fish oil." Nutrition and alternative medicine was not a high priority in med school in the past. I believe this is changing as there have been more studies on the great affects of natural and preventative healing.

I am pretty passionate about alternative therapies and although I think the claims that they can cure 90% of CKD patients is suspicious, I do believe there is merit in other treatments. Personally, I think a combination of western and Eastern medicine is most effective.

The holistic doctors I've used in the past have helped me greatly in dealing with some medical issues that mainstream doctors couldn't figure out. Consider looking into holistic doctors in your area and see if they have any thoughts for you. Mine could prescribe regular medication as well as alternative. The only issue is that insurance isn't always accepted and it can get costly. Also, always make sure to cross check any herbs or suppliments with your doctors to make sure they won't cause interactions with current medications or put further stress on your kidneys. There are a lot of websites out there by untrained wellmeani g people that can cause more harm than good.

This is just another attempt to get money out of the vulnerable. Of course we would like a cure. But can we really believe that this one Chinese clinic (not really a hospital, people say) has had the magic answer for many years? And that nobody has spread it through the rest of the country, let alone the world?

I do not know everything (!!!) I trust in people who do know more than me. The NKF kidney.org.uk/ know a lot more than me. And they are not recommending this. Do you really think "The largest kidney patient charity in the UK. Run by kidney patients, for kidney patients." would ignore a promising answer?

It sounds like that Hubris has struck again.

My friend has and it has helped her pkd, not cured her, but helped her to have more energy and feel better. She still gets tired and has to close her eyes. Also she follows a low lectin organic lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet. Low lectin just happens to be low phosphorus, so I think she is preserving her almost non functioning kidneys through diet. SI TCM may not cure, but it does help. Best wishes.

I am Chinese Canadian, and I can assure you these herbal junkies won't work. In fact, they might make your kidney even worse and assured you an early enjoyment on dialysis.

Mr. Kidney is right. CKD is a prolonged disease, and should be managed long term. Healthy eating, exercises, take your meds on time, and don't try quick magics.

Yes I have been to China for Osmotherapy, and yes, I'm satisfied that it works. The Chinese people have been using whole body herbal treatment for about four thousand years and seem to have a pretty good handle on what they do for most ailments.

America is only about three Hundred years old and is afflicted with Hubris in many professions which makes it difficult to learn proven methods from other cultures. The result is that we in America do not use proven mainline medicine for the most part but use alternative medicine that has been "discovered" or "invented" here because of Hubris. The treatment in China, while it works, is expensive. I stayed until I ran out of money and would go back if a windfall should occur. If you go, expect to meet a lot of friendly people and eat a lot of "Street Food". The people are very outgoing, the food is very good and the medical treatment is what I hoped for. Incidentally, stem cell treatment works there, and would work here except for some whose apparent mandate is that American medicine must not catch up with the rest of the world. Given, there may not be a "cure" for autosomal PKD, but there are effective treatments to slow it down and may

even prevent dialysis.

I am currently in China at a TCM Hospital. I have been here for 20 days and plan to stay until the end of the month.

I have PKD1 and I'm 43 years old. Both my kidneys have a lot of cysts. While my kidney functions are fine and my creatinine levels are normal, I had some pain on my left kidney which made me take this step to China. I've done an Ultrasound back home and the first day I arrived.

Details as follow:

Kidney Size at the time of arrival (29/06/19)

Left Kidney: 16.6x8.9cm

Right Kidney: 15.7x10cm

The biggest cyst is 4.6x5.5cm, 5.6x5.3

-----------------------------------------------------

Done an Ultrasound again (13/07/19)

Left 14.0x8.7cm

Right 15.0x8.9cm

The biggest cyst is 4.3x4.5cm, 5.4x4.6cm

As you can see there has been a crazy improvement during a short period of time. I am doing several therapies at the hospital, not just Osmotherapy.

They have asked me to stop eating seafood (river food is fine). They also asked me to stay away from onions, chilies, and garlic.

On the other hand, they did not promise me or confirm if the cysts would grow back again. However, to me, what they have achieved so far is still a great benefit to me.

Hope this helps others with their decisions.

Good Luck!
