There are several things that can cause you to have protein in the urine. Exposure to cold (but hey, this is August), strenuous exercise or a fever. Of course, there are serious issues but your doctor would have asked you to have additional tests run so relax, and re-do your labs in 30 or 60 days. If you are taking certain medications they could also cause a temporary dip in your GFR. Take a deep breath and relax for the time being.

My brother had the same issues and he went for tests and it was nothing. They told him that things change all the time due to meds and life in general. Go based on how u feel and don't stress. I'm sure your fine. Congrats on 16 years. That's fantastic and gives me hope.

Reduce meat consumption if you are having them. Specially all kinds of red meat and processed meat found in sandwiches. Meat consumption creates immense pressure on the kidney functions and eventually leads to its poor health. Your protein in the urine will be significantly reduced once you cut off red meat consumption. White meat (chicken, turkey) and various fish can be consumed in moderation for maintaining health.

Awesome. Try to increase white rice and noodles consumption. Cook at home and focus more on nutrition less on taste.

Please don't worry. I've had protein in urine for several years. Recently I was put on blood pressure medicine which reduced the protein to normal levels. So, there are medications that can be used if it continues. Your function is still really high and like the others said, this may be a one time thing to have protein, but there are solutions to lower it if you keep having it.
