What should I ask my doctor?

I am new. I just found out I have Stage 2 Kidney failure. I also have Hep C. I am a 69 yr. old female.

I assume you had blood test for hep.c and the stage 2 CKD showed up, I would be more concerned about the hep.c rather than the CKD however I don't know if having hep.c can affect the kidney's ? that's a question you can ask the Dr. But as for the CKD at stage 2 you have nothing to worry about and you wouldn't be referred to a Nephrologist till you reach stage 4 , with exceptions, I am at stage 3 with and eGFR around 40, and never been referred.

Yes i agree with bowler stage 2 is no worries you can live many years at the same stage & never get worse my mum is 85 was stage 3 at one point now improved to stage 2 she was stage 3 about 10 years ago!

You need to focus on your Hepatitis C liver condition first. Stage 2 CKD is not nothing to be concerned about at the moment.
