Heart Transplant in 1995 with all the anti-rejection meds my kidneys are not doing well. The Drs say it's the other organs that will kill you, twenty years of meds and I can't stop taking them. Does anyone know how too increase their GFR, cant go thru another Transplant again.

3 years ago my gfr dropped to 29. This was caused by taking Diclofenac. I was told not to use any tablets or cream that contained anti inflammatory. My gfr has now gone up to 48. I have be careful what I use. Are you taking anything with an inflammatory in - if you are I would stop them straight away

Thanks panda22 I see the Doc's on Tuesday will know then what's going on. Just taking my normal meds for rejection, which might be the cause of GFR too drop. Talk again after I know a little more, thanks again for your input!!

Hi. I had a liver transplant in 2010 and have been having similar issues. However my egfr has risen again to 41 even went up to 48 at one point. Mine does seem to go up and down. Have also had two acute kidney episodes where it was down to 14. Were talking dialysis on one episode. However they have dropped my tacrolimus and mycophenolate medications and it does seem to have helped seem to have gone from around the 31/35 mark to 40's so maybe your team can look at lowering rejection meds if this is possible in your case. I was also having a lt if infections which badly affected my kidneys is this a possibility in your case.
