Newly diagnosed stage 3-confused and concerned.

GP told me that in stage 3 as creat going up and eGFR declining. From looking over recent blood tests it is going steadliy down. I have also recently found that i am having episodes of hematuria- this was first found a few weeks ago as part of a pre-op assessment for surgery and also experiencing nocturia.I have no known cause for CRF and am only 45. Gp said hematuria and tiredness was a coincidence and to just forget about it and that i didn't really need monitoring.

Could it be connected or the cause? I was also diagnosed with coeliac disease in Aug.I feel anxious as want to know why this happened and how to stop it or slow it down and gp no help hence my concern and confusion.

Any thoughts/info would be appreciated.

Falling kidney function can occur for a multitude of reasons. Your GP should really be testing you for various things now. Have you been tested for Lupus, diabeties, etc

Hi rw10,

It sounds as if your main problem is that no one has sat down with you and answered your questions and concerns. Haematuria and nocturia can be a symptom of a urinary infection. Is there a sympathetic GP in your practice that you could book a slightly longer appointment with to talk it all over? Sometimes it works asking for an appointment when they are less busy. I hope you manage to sort something out, best wishes xx

Try urine therapy, stem cell treatment. These are only therapies known to me. I have stage 3 now , am going to try them out

I am stage 3 also. Deterioration slowed down after 5 yrs. May be coincidence, but changed my diet when diagnosed with PKD & PLD. Nocturia due to docs saying drink 2 ltrs of water a day. Tiredness also, but doc says due to poor sleep pattern! Docs don't often know much about kidney problems, but they should refer you to a hospital renal consultant. Try and get referred so you can talk everything through with them.

Might be best to suggest a referral to renal consultant to test/explain why you have these symptoms. In the meantime monitor (home monitor from a chemist shop cost's £15) your blood pressure as being stage 3 your more likely to suffer from high blood pressure which itself it not good for kidney's. Get your GP to also dipstick your urine for protein. Are you anemic? get a blood count done kidney disease coupled with hematuria could loose you iron you need for blood. If your currant GP is no help try to see another to get you your referral.

Take Care x

Was diagnosed stage 3 yesterday by my GP. I am already scheduled for a kidney ultrasound on Tuesday morning and he's referred me to a kidney specialist. I have so many questions and I'm really nervous. The past 2 years I was diagnosed with Parkinsons and now this. I'm ONLY 60 yo
