What age was your kidney problem first diagnosed?

Were there any special reasons for this? Should it have been picked up earlier? How have things gone since?
I was diagnosed at 18, I was six months pregnant. The reason for testing was my mother was diagnosed with PKD and instructed that myself and my two sisters were also checked. I am now 43 and until recently not really been affected. I have always been monitored by a specalist. However, my two sons both of which also have PKD were both diagnosed at 17 and are monitored by their GP
I was diagnosed at 26, following my father's diagnosis of APKD. I am the oldest of 5 children and the only one diagnosed with the condition. I have always been monitored by my hospital consultant, I find the GP does not have a good enough understanding of the complex nature of the condition and therefore just use them to monitor and control my blood pressure. I have recently been diagnosed with gout and this raised issues for the GP regarding treatment If I had not had a good understanding of my condition I would have ended up on non steroidals.
i was diagnosed at 11 with nephrotic syndrome and had a tranplant when i was 15 in 1990, my kidney is wearing out now but i think 22 years is good going, im quite stable at the minute so i hope ive a couple of years yet before im back on dialysis.
I was diagnosed at the age of 45 when i had a scan done for something else.i then was told i have polcystic kidney disease.the main problem i have at present is the size of my kidneys and liver.
I was told that I had progressive kidney disease over several years. I was never given any advice as what to do as regards to improving my health. In 2015 I was taken to hospital with renal Armenia. This was the beginning of a six month stay in hospital. The outcome was. That I now have stage 4 CKD, and was diagnosed 2weeks ago September 2016 with liver cancer. This has totally gob smacked me as I feel very well at the moment.and have done for over a year. I am waiting to see a specialist at the moment, but the waiting is agony.
I was diagnosed at the age of 51 when I had a scan for something else. During the scan it was discovered that I had a cancerous tumour in my right kidney. The right kidney was removed and with great relief the tumour was contained within the kidney. I now have CKD 3 where at present my kidney function reading is 45. I have been advised to eat a low sodium diet.
I was diagnosed at 18. Have been told that my kidney disease is probably down to recurrent infections as a child. As a child I was a chronic bed wetter. Was taken to GP more times than I care to remember but kidney investigation was never taken up. For the last 32 years I have always been led to believe that I would be OK - however, was informed in June of this year that my function is only 15% and am now being "worked up" for a transplant. So much for being OK!
I had VUR twice once before the age of 7 and then again and 15 now I am 18 and was diagnosed with FSGS. But it really all started at 7.
Aye! everybody, my first post on here, So nice to meet you all. As regards an answer to the question "At what age did you find you had a kidney problem" Well I'm now aged 70, and having being diagnosed with throat cancer early last year, I was taken aback after my first MRI scan, when the oncologist said , I see you have only one functioning kidney, which was news to me AND my GP. She said it was so shrivelled its probably never ever worked since birth. So its right what some people say, You learn something new everyday.
