Hi, my husband also used to battle with high potassium levels, his gastroenterologist recommended ALIGN, this is really easy to find over the counter. You can find it cheaper at Costco. He just takes one capsule in the morning and he is ok. When he is constipated he takes Lactulose. I hope this can help :)

How about trying Renadyl probiotic that Jen Hernandez and Plant Powered Kidneys recommends? I just ordered it for me. And my acupuncturist reviewed the write-ups and said it looks good. Anyone else tried it? Some people like Dadvice takes the Kibow product too. Let me know any comments. Also, does anyone know what DadviceTV does to stay off dialysis? Thank you, BB

I am not sure that my response here will be of much value, but I did inquire about probiotics for my gastric issues with my nutritionist and she said because of the nature of my issues (kidney disease), probiotics would not be of much aid. I take two Senekot and add Restoralax powder to a glass of juice and drink this daily. Both help with elimination. But, if I go a day without sufficient output, I take Lactulose, once or twice. I didn't realize bowel care was going to be such a big deal with kidney failure, but it is essential to make PD work for me.

Thanks for the input,I have taken the Align for 3 days & have an upset stomach.I will check the meds you mentioned.I f I didnt have to take the Aurexia it might not be so bad.I have no kidneys so a binder is a must do.

I forgot to mention that everything I use is over-the-counter. Just a thought... I know this will sound obvious, so I apologize, but sometimes a reminder can help... I find it easier just to avoid foods high in phosphate or just monitor roughly how much I consume, for example, orange juice, which I love and which is high in phosphorus. I limit it to maybe 2 x a week or replaced it with apple juice. Do you work closely with a nutritionist? Essentially, my monthly bloodwork gets tagged for the nutritionist to look at if my phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, or potassium numbers are out of wack. We chat on the phone and review my diet. Consequently, I have been able to avoid binders, even though I started off with Tums as a binder. Best of luck finding what works for you!😊

My Primary Doc's Nurse Assistant recommended Floratir, which you can get from Amazon, Walgreens for as little as $20 . I am using it to restore gut biome die to antibiotics, acid reflux , belching, irritable bowel, and constipation.

Tissybell, thanks for this! I will look into Floratir. I have been testing out kefir for gut biome support. I have so much to learn.🤓
