Hey everyone, my name is Sam and i am a student at Sheffield Hallam University. I am currently enrolled on the enterprise scheme where i am setting up my own ready meal business, where i am going to make ready meals for people on a renal diet. My grandad is currently on dialysis and adhering to a renal diet so i know how challenging it can be to find foods to eat.

What a fabulous idea. I live in the US and we have lots of food delivery products but nothing kidney friendly. Super great idea and I wish you well in that endeavor.

Hey thanks for the feedback, i know of a few renal ready meal services based in the US if you are interested. One of which is called MagicKitchen.

I will look into it, not so much for me because I love to cook. But for other people who might be interested. Thanks

Wow... that is awesome. My sister is a cook/dietitian at a hospital and she is always checking that I'm eating the right foods (I love her for that) and when we go have dinner at her house she always makes me a dish I can enjoy. It's hard to find kidney friendly foods or know someone who can help you. You are doing a great job. Good luck and thank you.

Hi Sam, what a brilliant idea. Kudos to you! I'm currently on a low potassium & low sodium diet but will have to begin a renal diet shortly. A service such as yours would be ideal for me. Managing my kidney decline/failure day to day can be overwhelming at times. It would give me peace of mind to not have to stress over meal planning & to leave it in capable hands. Best of luck to you!

Most renal dietitians will say there is no specific renal diet...only one specific to each individual. Blessings

What a great idea! My husband and I could have used readymade meals on the days I had dialysis. It was challenging to him to have to cook those days, but we somehow managed by preparing meals we could use for 2 or 3 days.

Hello Sam, That is a wonderful idea! I spent years on dialysis and didn't feel much like cooking at all. Plus I'm a lousy cook.:) I would definitely be interested in that service. I am now listed for transplant ,having my donors tested and evaluated and doing my best to stay on the renal diet my doctors recommended. Im sure your grandfather is very touched and proud of your enterprise business idea. I wish you both the best. Take care

great idea it's tough to find the right foods if you don't like to cook ,everything has preservatives in it. you have to watch your phosphorus and pottassium intake.it's a juggling act.good luck

Great idea! Your business is supposed to be not only profitable but also helpful. I'm sure a lot of people will like it. I know it is hard to work with start-ups, especially if you don't have any experience. But with the right approach, you will cope with everything. Good luck!
