Hi everyone...I was diagnosed with CKD in February of this year, everything happened so fast.. was in the hospital 21 days and now being on dialysis just this past week my catheter was changed twice and yesterday a treatment was so frustrating the machine kept beeping and the technician was just frustrated so she decided to take me off the treatment 1hour and 45 min early, blood pressure was 88 I was dizzy and confused. It just frustrated me that this is their job and they seem to make the patients feel worthless

Welcome to this gorum🐶 And, I'm truly sorry that you've had so many challenges with dialysis.

You mention problems with your catheter. Are you on PD dialysis or HD dialysis (with a catheter rather than a fistula)?

How do you feel about Peritoneal dialysis? I do Peritoneal, 4 times a day, manually. The other PD is the machine. Go talk to someone today. Be informed about it. Let me know what was said.

BE BLESSED!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry your having such a hard time with dialysis, and the staff isn't helping. It's their job to make sure you get the best care possible it doesn't sound like that's what their giving you. I would make a complaint in writing about their work and attitude towards you, that isn't right you shouldn't feel overwhelmed like that. Second, why did they change your catheter out? Was it infected? It's also their job to make sure catheter site is clean and working properly. First things first I would make a complaint in writing and send it to the board of directors or better yet if you can get cooperates info that would be better. I hope you're doing much better. Hang in there.

My son had a lot of problems with his tech also. The Rn's their were not qualified to be doing that job. My son use to bleed so bad after they finished with the treatment . Blood would be dripping onto the floor. Did not wrap him correctly after the needles were pulled out. Was going to change dialysis's centers but my son passed away while having a treatment that morning.

Don't give up Goddess. I have been on dialysis since end of January. I have had several times when my blood pressure dropped while there, and I felt lightheaded and sick, once I threw up and they had to clean me up. Only after they asked me if I was on BP meds. Yes. So they told me not to take the med on the mornings of my dialysis treatment. Then my BP didnt drop again. I dont like being on hemo so I am going to be trained to do peritoneal at home. It seems to be and easier and kinder procedure. Keep posting and we will answer your questions. Never give up, this is the gift of life.
