Deep cough

My sister has been going for dialysis for 9-10 years. She has also been hospitalized for chest infections etc. She has a very bad cough and tends to cough after meals and drinking. Does anyone know of treatments that could help the coughing and maybe the swallowing -dysphagia that might be occurring.

I would strongly suggest talking with her doctor. She may need to see a specialist regarding the swallowing issues. Fluid overload can cause difficulty breathing kidney.org/atoz/content/flu...

This could be caused by any number of things. Some medications cause a mild cough. The only way to be sure is to consult with her physician. Sounds like she needs a thorough and complete examination and review of medications as well as a good history and other things. Nobody here could possibly do that for her. Please keep us updated. Many Blessings

Thanks. I notice that it happens frequently after eating or drinking but I will have her get a complete physical.
