CKD Stage 2 & high calcium?

Is anybody at stage 2 CKD and have high calcium levels? I just discovered the CKD on my own a few weeks ago, this was after having a high calcium level on my last 2 blood tests. All my old primary doctor told me to do about the high calcium was to drink more water, see you next year. I recently switched to a different doctor and will see him soon. If your calcium is/was high what were you told to do about it? I will have my new doctor check my parathyroid level.

I was just diagnosed with hypercalcemia, prerenal azotemia and hyperparathyroid. Was told to stop Calcium and Vitamin D3, and next appointment in six months. When I questioned the hyperparathyroid (this diagnosis came first) and other things that might be done, I was told this was part of CKD. None of this was explained by the neph. I had my regular appointment with my personal physician soon after and told her that I was uncomfortable with no Calcium and Vit. D3 for six months without closer follow up. She referred me to an endocrinologist, who I will be seeing in May. My pp listens and takes action. My neph does not. She is the doctor (and knows it all). Needless to say, I will be looking for a new neph. It will be my third.

I cannot stand doctors who think they know it all and do not listen. Hope you can find a great neph. What stage CKD are you?

You can go to zocdoc: to find a new doctor. You can even read reviews from patients.

My latest eGFR is 79. I’ve gone through my last 10 years of blood tests and it started at 78 10 years ago and has bounced up and down between the 70s and 90s since then. I am not diabetic.

I am 53. I am not taking a calcium supplement, the other poster is. I was taking D3 because I had a slight insufficiency a few years ago but I have stopped that for now. Also limiting foods with high calcium and trying to drink more water. I know I definitely need to improve in regards to that. I’ll speak to my new doctor about it and see what he suggests. Thanks for your input!
