5 THINGS YOUR NEPHROLOGIST WANTS YOU TO KNOW

This article from DaVita appeared in my inbox this morning and I decided to post it here for those interested. When I decided to become proactive after my diagnosis in June of 2017, I researched as much as I could to learn all I could to help me deal with this additional chronic illness (I also have T2D, Gout, and Hypertension).

I'm still learning and doing research and if/when the day comes and I need to make a choice on further treatment dialysis, transplant, etc. I continued to do the research on the various modalities of dialysis. It's never too early or late to have this conversation with your nephrologist. I did about two years ago and it brought a lot of peace to me knowing that when/if that time comes I'd already made the important decision.

I hope some of you find the comfort I found by having this discussion now and looking at your options.

Excellent and very upbeat article, Mr._Kidney. Thank you for sharing.

Very true and essential to remember that we are our own advocates and in charge of our own health.
