Please asses my first report

1) Today I got health checkup for first time at my own and got 1.05 creatinine and 88 GFR. CKD 2! It is just 2 less than 90 and if it was 90 means no issue? Fully normal?

2) Should I consult nephrologist?

3) My urine has protine. Is 1.05 high?

You might ask your doctor to redo the labs in about 2-3 weeks. GFR fluctuates and if you were slightly dehydrated or getting over a cold or flu it could have brought your numbers down a bit. GFR and Creatinine numbers are usually what is used to determined CKD but one set of low numbers is not enough. It will usually require a second or even third draw. However, if you do have then drawn again and get a similar number or slightly lower you should think about getting started on a kidney-friendly meal plan to begin to slow the progression. Your age and other health issues like diabetes and hypertension will also come into play as those two issues are the leading causes of CKD. If there is a history in your family of CKD then you should let your physician know and that with another drop in the GFR might spur the doctor to give you a referral to a nephrologist at this time.

No diabetes. No BP. No history. I did test at my own due to little foamy urine. Is it 100% CKD?

And, no diagnosis here in the community. Call your doctor!

MR_Kidney is right - and in addition, a normal GFR will depend on your age. The scale goes from 0 to 120. As we age, your GFR will naturally decline. Here is a video that can help you in understanding your GFR better (and help you avoid some of the common misconceptions people make about it): youtu.be/dyAMjdtsNfk

We cannot diagnose here, but can only speak from our own experiences. Just so you know your creatinine is perfectly normal. And a drop in GFR could be a result of being a little dehydrated, etc. Personally, if you are worried I would have my tests done again in a couple of weeks and make sure you keep up with your fluid intake.

Thanks for responding. I am worried and concerned due to some protein in urine.

You can have protein in your urine if you exercised the day before or if you ate red meat the day before the test. You need to have the tests repeated to see if there is protein again in your urine or not.
